Tired of reverse discrimination? What can we do to help get rid of it?

EQUAL? I think not! I would like to have a W.E.T. (White entertainment television) or NWCF (national white college fund), WMA (white miss America).....but then that is being discriminatory. The point here is to be EQUAL....within the miss America pageant...you have black/asian/chinese/white Americans. All people are allowed to get money from a normal college fund...and people of all colors are on all kinds of TV channels. Why do some groups get their OWN special treatment? Get rid of these special things! Also, why are people so stuck on the fact of the past. Ask half of the people today about the history about blacks...and most people don't even know the true history or how it went down...they just want to get something for free or handed to them! What about the past for all of the other ethnicities? What did they have to go through? Anyhow, what are your thoughts on this?

1. Black people have been discriminated against for a long time (and in some cases still are). that's why there is the college fund for black people - not because the children have been discriminated against so much as the parents and grandparents. See if their parents and grandparent hadn't been discriminated against, those families might have had a lot more money now than they actually do. Basically it is making up for past mistakes (which it never can of course). So I believe there should be such things to make up for the inequalities that they had to suffer in the past. Also the only "true history of the blacks" is that they were (and like I said sometimes unfortunately still are) discriminated against and of course enslaved and treated abominably. There is no way all this reverse discrimination is ever gonna wash with me I'm afraid. Any kind of discrimiation white people face will never ever ever be on a par with horrible things that happened to them will it? We can't make up for the past so we are gonna have to do everything we can to make it right. (measly college funds etc, do not make up for the kind of horrors those people had to suffer.)
2. what the hell is cmt (country music tv)!!!!!! i NEVER see anyone complaining about that!!!! all those things for black ppl were set up becasue they werent ALLOWED to participate in other things so they made things up for them selves. why do u care so much???? if ur that concerned then get ppl together that feel the way u do & do sumthing about it dont sit on yahoo complaining that wont get u anywhere. goodluck to you tho
3. Donut, I have to side with you on this one. I do see the others points with trying to make up for the past...BUT...the past is the past. I am not complaining about what happened to my ancestors. Also, a lot of black people had black slaves...so they were enslaving their own kind. Are they complaining about that? Also, are blacks coming out and helping out mexicans...so mexicans can have it easier trying to come into the US illegally? I feel that they need to get rid of all of the specific groups since everybody wants things "EQUAL". Also, I feel they need to get rid of Affirmative Action as well. When I go to the doctors office...I don't care if the doctor is white/black/chinese/indian/asian...all I care about is that my doctor was the most qualified person that is treating me...not a person to fill in a number slot! People need to cut all the crap and live in todays world. Quit complaining about how bad they had it...they never had it bad! It is time for people (in general) (blacks, whites, all other ethnicities) to put their foot down and take it like it is. Quit trying to work against each other and work together. Get rid of all of the seperatism groups (bet/nncf/bma) and be equal. As far as the other users comment goes....what about cmt? What about it? There is now a black country singer on there. I have seen blacks on their. It is not a white only program. It was not made for Whites exclusivlely! It is made for COUNTRY MUSIC. Not for a culture or gender. We also need to have equality between sexes. Don't give a woman a job because she is a woman....hire her on a basis that she is better than the guy that put in for the job. If the guys resume is better then hire him. IT IS TIME TO BE EQUAL!
