Pure Pleasure Products

Is it true that there is no such thing as pure pleasure...that some anxiety always goes with it?

Thanks Ovid.

  1. it all is your attitude towards life and your behaviour that effect the things. As such, life is full of both.. anxiety and pleasure.. and you just can not avoid any of them! try www.personalcounsellor.com .. both give experience
  2. when one learns to manage their fears and accepts life on its terms then the anxiety is gone or at the least manageable and therefore allows for more pleasure
  3. I think that unless it is just a moment of pure pleasure, so brief that there is no time to be anxious, that yes, some anxiety probably accompanies it: worry that it will be over too soon, or where or when are we going to find it again.... We are always waiting "for the other shoe to drop".
  4. What kind of pleasure are you talking about? There is pleasure that doesn't involve always involve anxiety especially when it is something you definately know you want or ready for.
  5. In Buddhaism there is a thought that with all pleasure one experiences suffering (which might come in the form of anxiety). They speak of 8 vicissitudes in life: pain, gain, loss, disrepute, fame, praise, happiness & sorrow. With each vicissitude there is suffering.
  6. That is pure speculation. Did I go Ovid board? I sometimes think when things are going well that they are going too well and that something unpleasant is lurking around the corner. However, if you chew Wrigleys spearmint gum you can double your pleasure.
  7. I am sure of that... In the back of ones mind there will always be this nagging voice that won't let you enjoy pleasures unconditionally...stress,guilt,fear,to name a few. They all may be unfounded but it is human nature to always look for something bad in everything.
  8. Wouldn't that be called a wife?
  9. Hmm I guess you never have hit a Trifecta with 3 longshots, thats a pleasure, with no anxiety, Taxes Pfft. nothin to it. we can hide that.
