How can someone honestly get pleasure from someone Else's pain?

I know someone who has been put in a very stressful situation at this time. The person who put her there is walking around like (walking on clouds) with a big happy grin on their face. The person sufferring doesn't deserve a bit of this. This is so evil. I think it is pure evil!

7. Sounds like someone's got a case of the Schadenfreudes. It's a pretty sweet and satisfying feeling but definitely evil. There's not much that's more evil than that.
8. I don't understand the real psychological dynamics of this sort of thing, but I have asked myself this question and tried to observe people and learn what makes them tick in this regard. My only real guess is that some people have either been hurt so much that they are compensating somehow for this pain through cruelty. It gives them satisfaction to see someone else suffer much as they have suffered. Its an immature and entirely inappropriate response to their own pain, but maybe their mind is not developed enough to be able to cope or process the pain in healthier ways? And in other cases I truly believe that some people have a mental disorder that does not allow them to feel a sense of empathy or concern for other people. Many are so caught up in themself that they just lose touch with other peoples feelings and even get pleasure from seeing someone else hurt. (This is a trait that is quite common in serial killers but to the extreme.) I have to question the motives and the conscience of anyone who would get such pleasure from hurting people in any way. Its one thing to get angry and unintentionally cause someone harm, its another thing to do it on purpose and be happy about it. That suggests a much deeper problem in my opinion.
9. I don't know how they could. I seem to side with the victim and feel their pain which isn't generally pleasure. I have to go with "evil" as the correct answer. It's not normal human emotion to be happy at someone elses pain. Sandy :O)
10. sometimes when i hate someone and they fall and is in pain (and i hate them) it makes me feal happy cuz well sometimes weard stuff makes it all OK
