- One would think, that was rather the point of advertising.
- it depends but probably most of the americans r
- Only the rich ones. The poor know the value of money better than that.
- Yes. The corporations are having their way. They constantly bombard us with their media that makes us feel like we're not successful or fulfilled if we don't have what they are selling. And what do American's do? We sacrifice our financial security to get our hands on what they are selling. The mindset in America is to consume as much as we can even if our consumption puts us in debt. This attitude has even spilled into our government which accumulates enormous deficits despite a mountain of tax revenues. America is living in a fantasy world. There are consequences to our actions.
- Yes.
- i think americans, (and the rest of the world) is well aware of the corruption that looms over them but ask yourself this... do we really care? lets say i buy a TV... I am well aware that my money for this TV is going to in one way or another, go to some major corporation and further their goals of riches and power... but i have a nice new TV and that company will never bother me again. If the TV turns out to be crappy, i will buy another one. advertising only takes advantage of us until such a time when our needs are met. when was the last time you bought a new car, but still payed attention to a car commercial. for most of us, as long as these companies are not taking our stuff or in some way physically harming us, we could care less about them.
