Can we afford gasoline burning toys?

In view of Global Warming, how long can we allow such fuel burning toys as Skidoos, Seadoos, off-track vehicles and such. You might include the various kinds of vehicular racing. I know this will be an unpopular question, but what is more important - a healthier environment or pleasures that only a privileged few can enjoy?

1. pleasures for the priviliged few, if you did the math you'd see that the amount of fuel these vehicles burn is extremely tiny compared to the worlds entire use. removing them wouldn't even put a dent in it.
2. OK so you don't like fun. That does not mean everyone else is the same.
3. If you look at the limited amount of time these vehicles are ridden and their small engines, this argument is moot. It takes more gas to send one oil tanker to the US from the middle east than all of the gas that every offroad motorcycle in the US has produced in the last ten years. Global warming is such a crock of BS.

5. the gas burning toys we use and own are a part of life ,and some of them we actually need to have other wise our way of life as we see it now would totally change forever,but some of the stuff we see as pleasure to some is a way of making a living,so if we minus any of this it will have a big affect on the way we live as well as the way others live as well,so you have to ask your self is there one thing that you own that runs on gas that you could do without,you brought up a good question though,its something to think about,good luck.
6. The way to stop global warming is not to eliminate small fuel burning vehicles (which are actually much more fuel efficient than the average car). The only solution is to replace the gas burning internal combustion engine, and that won't happen until dubbya's out of office. and if global warming is BS, why is the weather going apeshit? melting ice caps, complete lack of any real winter in most of the midwest, hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamies, the list goes on. I mean, you don't really believe that gay people are the cause of katrina, do you?
7. the human race actually needs to remove most of it's pretrol burning vehicles within the next 5 years, regardless of what we do with them.

9. people are so ignert i would contridict myself if i said we needed to get rid of all cars. but we do need to do something! yes some dumb people think live for today but they must not have children!! if the government is going to waste money on nasa they should use that money to envest in trying to find a better way of traveling (wich i do beleave they have been trying) i dont know to much about the hybrids but i know its a step. but its not only cars and trucks what about ships and planes its everything. i know it sounds crazy but if you think about it and science an object has mass theres no way to change the mass of an object unless you take something away from it the earth's mass has alot to do with everything, the gravity the way the rotation on the axes well oil might be a liquid but still very well is a part of the earths mass even though it doesnt seem like alot after years and years of pumping it out and burning it into a gas i beleave will and has changed the earths mass. now im not stupid i know its not like it changed alot but really they talk about tons of oil well that seem like alot to be pumping in just a matter of small time the world is ovr 4 billion yrs old and i belave we started pumping oil maybe mid 1800's (if that) so alittle over 100 yrs and were not generating enough???!!!! just think about it we have our seasons the way we do because of the earths rotation on the axes what happens if that rotaion is lost? or changed?? (scienceist are exploing the fact that th poles are changes and have done this before) weather goes crazy and veggietation and livestock will change it doesnt mean the end of the world but as we know it yes. thats just a crazy theory of mind i have lots just something to think about and laugh about
10. Just about any combustion engine can be converted to a more envirionmentally friendly alternative fuel like Propane or CNG.
