Is it true that Lancome cosmetics test on animals? I'm a huge believer in Lancome and I have quite a few of their products. Why do cosmetic companies test on animals anyways? Can't they just test on happy volunteers?

Reporting A Lancome Cosmetics Saleswoman...? Did I do the right thing? I had problems with the same woman last weekend, and I was asking her for some help in choosing an eyeliner pencil ( Le Crayon Kohl) and she was totally rude and wouldn't give me the time of day. Well, I just called Macy's and unfortunately got the same mean woman and I asked if she had a dark green in the same pencil. She blew me off, saying they DIDN'T carry those pencils and did not have any of the green in stock. She pretended not to know what I was talking about. So I called Macy's and spoke to the manager ( she used to be the manager of cosmetics!) and she was very nice and courteous, and she is going to the department, and she is going to chew out (my guess) the nasty Lancome woman. Help me decide, Lancome or Prescriptives Cosmetics? I go back to work after my maternity leave in two weeks and after reviewing cosmetics lines from sampling product (to include mineral cosmetics) I have narrowed it down to two lines for my back to work cosmetics/skincare routine...either prescriptives or lancome. Which do you think has a better product line in skincare and cosmetics? Also which do you think will perform well? I have tried the skincare from Lancome and it works great, but so does prescriptives and I can be matched to a foundation from both so I cannot make up my mind between the two! So if you have used or are using one of these two lines please give me your honest opinion. Here are the other lines that I have sampled and due to skin issues they do not work for me, everybody's skin is different they all either broke me out, or irritated my skin making it red and peel>MAC, Pur Minerals, Bare Minerals, Origins, Clarins, Laura Mercier, Bobbi Brown, Clinique, Dior and Estee Lauder. Why do (high-end) fragrances and cosmetics rarely go on sle? Often in department stores do I find sales on items like clothings, accessories, and home items (i.e. Macy's, Nordstroms, etc.). But at these places do I rarely find sales on fragrances and cosmetics (Lancome, Clinique, Chanel, etc.) Sometimes I'll receive a free gift with purchase or receive an offer of purchasing a fragrance gift set, but this doesn't change the fact that each individual item isn't marked down. Why are the relatively high-end fragrances and cosmetics at department stores rarely on sale? This is different from the fragrances and cosmetics I find at drugstores (Target, CVS, Wal-Mart, etc.), which often go on sale.

Which is a good natural cosmetics line Origins or Clarins? I am 9 weeks pregnant with twins and I am currently using Lancome, but the smell is just well...getting to me. I was thinking of trying to switch to a more natural line of skincare and makeup. My friend suggested Bare Minerals, but it just did not work with my skin and I broke out....next I tried Aveda, but I could not get over the smell and the foundation made my eyes water. I took a sniff of some of Clarins products and saw that they had things to prevent stretch marks as well as good sun protection products...I also took a sniff of Origins products, the smell was fine, good color selection, the price was better than Clarins, but no good stretch mark products, and not enought sun products. Which do would you recommend for me, I need a good skincare line, as well as makeup. My skin is combination as it gets good and oily in the T-Zone and normal on the cheeks. I want my skin to be soft, clear, and oil free, but not stripped. Clarins seemed nice, but expensive. Any suggestions?

lancome foundation and break outs? Ive been using lancome foundation for a little while now (teint idole) and I absolutely love it. But my skin has been breaking out really bad! I really don't know what it is that is making me break out because it could be a variety of reasons, but since it happened shortly after i bought the foundation I can't rule out the fact that it could be the foundation. Has anyone else had problems with lancomes foundation? And does anyone know, even if you have a good oil free foundation, if you leave it on too long (like say all night) can it still cause break outs? I often go to sleep without washing off my makeup because I work late nights and by the time I'm off I'm so tired its easier to just fall into bed! I've also been really stressed lately so this could be the cause of the acne too, but I just wanted some opinions what you think about the foundation etc. I have really sensitive skin as well, and i think Im allergic to the fragrance in most cosmetics. Is lancome fragrance free or is it not? Ive tried clinic but even though their products might not irritate my skin, i find them to be of inferior quality. I absolutely hate the quality of clinic and Im going to be bummed if its my lancome make up thats irritating my skin!

Why Are The Women At The Cosmetics Counter So.....? Nasty? I had a horrible shopping experience yesterday at the mall and I primarily went because I wanted to cheer myself up with a bottle of one of my favorite perfumes, Ysatis by Givenchy. After I bought it, I politely asked a woman at the Lancome counter if she had a certain mascara, and she was SO dismissive and bitchy, I couldn't believe it! Then I walked around Nordstrom's and all the cosmetic people were like that too, as if I didn't exist- why do these women think they're so damned superior? I was so disillusioned by the behavior of these women, and my money is just as good if not better than anyone else's! Have any of you women (and men, if you want to answer!) had this humiliating experience? I was seething all the way back to my car.

Which is Less Expensive? Mac or Lancome? All the prices quoted on the web are in US funds. I live in Canada, and there is a Mac counter at one store in my city.
