My TV does not want to show the E! Channel whereas the other TV's in the household show it? I have a Vizio 26" TV which is an LCD HDTV in my bedroom (just moved back with my parents). When I had my apartment I had no problems with the TV not that I do now which is why I'm explaining. My parents have regular box TVs (I guess you would say) in other rooms of the house since they haven't converted over yet. Ok here is my problem - my TV will not show E! Entertainment or some of the digital channels (I can do without the digital channels). Now the TV in the living room shows the E! channel but that TV also has HBO and all that jazz. I have watched this channel on the TV in my bedroom before but all of a sudden it is not coming up. My TV is the only one with this problem and I'm just trying to figure out where to start. Could it be the cable company, the TV, or is it possible I need the converter box even though it's a newer TV? I'm better at hooking up phone lines than figuring out cable issues. Any expertise? I would be so thankful as this is becoming annoying. What do you feel about TV being infested with unvaluable,shallow reality shows? Tired of reverse discrimination? What can we do to help get rid of it? EQUAL? I think not! I would like to have a W.E.T. (White entertainment television) or NWCF (national white college fund), WMA (white miss America).....but then that is being discriminatory. The point here is to be EQUAL....within the miss America pageant...you have black/asian/chinese/white Americans. All people are allowed to get money from a normal college fund...and people of all colors are on all kinds of TV channels. Why do some groups get their OWN special treatment? Get rid of these special things! Also, why are people so stuck on the fact of the past. any one eant tips on building a computer? just though id leave tips for anyone planning on making their own computer: Basic Hardware Info: There are several main parts builders need to know: the motherboard, CPU, power supply, RAM, video card, case, hard drives, optical/floppy drives, and sound cards. Most people believe that you build a system around the CPU, an AMD or Intel processer chip. That's incorrect. A builder knows that when you build a PC, it's based off of the motherboard. The motherboard is pretty much like a human skeletal system: EVERYTHING is put together from it. The first thing you need to do is figure out what kind of a PC you want to build: Are you building a basic computer, to do Word and Excel and some web browsing? Or a pimped out, ultimate gaming rig? Or how about a nice Home Entertainment PC? Once you figure that out, you can then select the parts you will need. The big differences between these three is: 1) You only need basic parts for the basic computer, nothing extravagant. Don't need a dedicated GPU (video card), when only a built-in GPU will work fine. Cheapest system to make, really. 2) You are going for the best bang for the buck or the highest priced parts available today. Budget gamers, and mid-gamers aim for the best bang for the buck method, sometimes building a system around the idea of using a certain part that they want (ex. they get the best video card they can, and skimp on the other parts as best as they can). 3) A HTPC (Home Theater PC) can be more expensive than a typical gamer's rig because of the essential component in this PC: Silence. A HTPC is made to be like TIVO; go through TV channels, but you can also burn/record them onto your hard drive, and you can even do some web browsing on that nice 50" Samsung LCD HDTV you bought a month ago. As such, HTPC makers biggest focus is on the CASE because that defines how big of a system they can make, and how much cooling they can get while putting as much of the best parts into it the case can handle. As you can see, these 3 basic building functions are very diverse and different from each other. HOWEVER, thats just the pure build idea; a budget PC can be a budget gaming rig; and a decent gaming rig can also second as a HTPC. It comes down to how you build it and what you use. Now, we're going to work on the assumption that you are building a gaming rig, like most of us do. 1) The motherboard. YOU MUST DECIDE two things before selecting a motherboard, IMHO. A) Intel or AMD? If you're worried about the flat dollar amount of the build, go with AMD as their CPUs are, AT THE MOMENT, cheaper. Bang for the buck, or best you can get, methods of buying will mean getting an Intel chip. Preferably a Core2Duo chip that's based off their new FSB 1333MHz standard, and not the old 1066MHz. B) Graphic card: NVIDIA or AMD (originally ATI until it was bought by AMD). You can SLI your video card, or Crossfire it, which are two different methods of using 2 PCI-E video cards from Nvidia or AMD. Most of us use NVIDIA, though there are some good bang-for-the-buck models from AMD. There are several brands of motherboard makers out there today: ECS, Biostar, ASUS, Gigabyte, and Intel to name a few. They all offer various functions and features, and warranties. Personally, I like Gigabyte bc of their warranties, and they've been more reliable for me than ASUS been (I've used 2 different Gigabyte boards without a single failure, whereas Asus 1 and only did die on me). Other things to make sure about: Make sure the mobo you select supports DDR2, and even DDR3 speeds for RAM. Currently, the standard is now DDR2 800MHz RAM, but more and more of us are using DDR2 1066MHz RAM for that extra OOMPH! Just remember the two things you decided upon earlier, and your choice of MOBOs are cut in half. 2) CPU: Now, whichever socket the motherboard you bought supports, is the kind of CPU you need to buy. You bought a quad-core Intel chip for $300, but skimped on the motherboard and bought it for only $20. Oh no! The mobo isn't the type of socket you needed; it's an old P4 model, not the model that can support that quad chip of yours. LGA775 is the standard socket for Intel Core2Duo chips, currently. AMD's is Socket AM2. Intel has gone from a 90, even a 65nm chip (the size of the chip) down to a 45nm chip. These new chips need less power and gives off less heat, but they do SO MUCH MORE processsing power, that whatever power and heating was saved is gone as you abuse and use that chip for everything in gaming. The sweet spot today for Intel chips, in my opinion, is the E6750, a 2.66GHz, core2duo chip, dual core and above, including the new 8000 series from Intel (the 8200 would be the 45nm equivalent of the 65nm 6750). AMD Im out on the loop of, but there a number of great price-performance ratio CPUs on the market today. 3) Power Supply. There's one rule of thumb here with a PSU: You get what you buy! There is absolutely NO POINT in buying the best PC parts in the world if your PSU is a POS. If a PC requires more power than given by a PSU, not only will it NOT run, but it may also fry and take your expensive $200 motherboard and $300 video card with it. There are several reliable manufacturers on the market, and RELIABILITY is the biggest pricing concern with PSUs. Targan, PC Power and Cooling, those two are the creme of the crop in PSU manufacturers. However, to get that nice 850 watt PSU from PC-PC, you;'re gonna fork over $180. A tad bit pricey. There are some budget PSUs on the market with good reliability, so they're cheaper than others (just not as good). Depending on the build, a decent gaming rig will want AT LEAST 550 watts of power, and you need to make sure it has the cables you need to power everything correctly. I hit a roadblock when my PSU didnt have the necessary power (500 watt PSU) to power everything in my PC when I upgraded from a 6600GT 128MB video card to a 8800 GTS 320MB vid card. Ending up getting a "patch," a dedicated GPU PSU, which has the necessary cable attachments to plug and power it. Beats spending another 80 bucks over the "patch's" price. 4 RAM. One of the easiest, and hardest choices, to make. Simple because you really only need to, or should, buy is DDR2 800MHz. It's hardest because first off, you gotta deal with ALL of the different RAM makers out there; GEIL, Patriot, OCZ, Corsair.. the list goes on and on. AND on top of that, there are MULTIPLE models for each RAM standard; Geil has like a dozen different models that fits under the DDR2 800MHz classification. AND on top of that too, do you want to stick with 800MHz or maybe cut a few bucks, and go only with DDR2 533 or 667MHz, or maybe spend a few more for that DDR2 1GHz RAM? 5) Video card: Only two manufacturers for these babies; AMD and Nvidia. AND though they have multiple models, most of them are based off the PCI-E socket, and don't overlap each other in performance or price... usually. However, these two are Direct Competitors, so when one offers $150 over-performing video card, the other will certainly try to match, or beat, it. Or maybe give you slightly reduced power at a bigger reduce price. Personally, I recommend NVIDIA as they have the best performing video cards on the market. This is an easy hardware part to review for because you really gotta worry about two things only: PRICE, and performance. And to do that, well price is easy, just look online and see the prices. Performance? Anandtech.com, tomshardware.com, etc etc. Such sites give you video card performance comparisons. So you can see for yourself how good they are. 6) Case. There a variety of cases, but lets stick to the simplest three: HTPC Case, Mid-tower, and Full tower. HTPC are usually short in height, with long lengths and widths. Almost like a TIVO box, so to speak. Mid-tower and Full tower cases are what you are more familiar with. These are the cases that are rectangular with narrow widths, but moderate to big height and lengths. And obviously, a full tower is just bigger than a mid-tower. There are over 20 different case manufacturers listed on newegg.com, but there are certain brands that are better than the rest: Apevia, Antec, Thermaltake, Lian-Li. These manufacturers have built reliable, and performing, cases for a gamer, and though their prices can be high, its bc of the reliablility and brand rep that manufacturer has. The biggest concern with a case is: how big are the parts are you buying, and how do you want to cool them. If you're getting a dual-slot video card, sound card, full size motherboard (yes, there are smaller motherboards), several optical and hard drives... you will need a full tower just to cram all that stuff in. But if you got a single slot video card, one HDD, 1 or 2 optical drives, etc. etc. You may only need a mid-tower. Anyways, I prefer full towers as they have better cooling, and just the extra room I can use for future upgrades. They are HEAVY to carry around, but its good exercise. That's the biggest tradeoff between the two: weight (and price too). Additionaly, I look for a case with at least one 120mm fan. Now, the cooling concept is NOT how many fans you got, but how much airflow you can get. 2x120mm fans have better airflow than 3, even 4x80mm fans. Not to mention that they give off a lot less noise; it takes less rpm for a 120mm fan to generate the amount of airflow a 80mm fan does at full speed. Other features in a case to look for: hinge doors with locks, location of the USB, and sound ports in the front, and case windows. This is where personal style really does take effect as people normally only see the case; getting a case with a window, however, will let them see inside it and add a few cathode lights, it looks AWESOME! 7) The hard drives, optical/floppy drives, and sound cards are easy parts in comparison to the first six to understand. Hard drive is like your brain; it stores ALL the information you got. There are several kinds of HDDs on the market; only two to worry about today, really, maybe three, are IDE, SATA, and SSDs. IDE and SATA drives are called that based of the connection they use; either an IDE or SATA connection. Recommendation: Stick with the SATA drives as SATA connections are faster than IDEs (and easier to install!). SSD means Solid-State Drives. This is a new hard drive developed and produced on the market today based off of the RAM/Flash storage concepts. Regular hard drives has several, moving parts in it, reducing their reliability, and thus the reason why system errors can develop over time; the hard drive is just slowly dying out. A SSD, on the other hand, has NO moving parts and is pretty much RAM technology, configured as a hard drive. Only problem is that these babies are EXPENSIVE, and not that big. A 750GB Sata HDD can cost about $120, whereas a 30GB SSD can cost about $300. See the problem? The biggest saving grace about SSD is their speed, having 4x the read/write speeds of a regular HDD at times. Testing has shown that where it may take several seconds for Windows to load on a regular hard drive, you can't time a SSD's loading time as Windows just pops up immediately. It's THAT FAST. Anyways, Look for AT LEAST a 250GB SATA hard drive, 7200rpm (not 5400). Faster RPM means faster speed, but reduced reliability as well, and more power being consumed. 7200RPM is today's standard, and 250GB will work for most people's needs. HOWEVER, if you save a lot of data, look for more storage if you can, and don't forget, you can put several hard drives into the same PC. Only one HDD needs to have an OS installed on it, while the rest are just storage drives for it. I got 2x320GB hard drives, and 1x750GB hard drive. Only one of my 320GB drives has Windows on it, the rest are filled up with movies, music, and games. (Ask Elwoodini how much storage you have, it's insane!) You know what optical drives are: A CD-ROM, CD-RW, DVD-ROM, DVD-/+RW, or Blu-Ray. Simplest answer: Just buy a DVD-/+RW drive, or two, unless you want to play HD movies on

Can not use MSE display the HD channel by Timewarner? I want to use MSE to be my home entertainment system to play DVD, cable channel, record program...etc. Timewarner is my cable company. However, the cable box only transfers the analog signal to my computer. All the HD channel is not the HD channel anymore. My TV tuner card(AverMedia, AverTV Bravo Hybrid PCI-E) can only detect analog signal, no digital or ATSC signal from cable box. I used composite and TV output from cable box and connect to my TV tuner card. None of them work. If the cable box uses Y/Pb/Pr connect to my HDTV directly, no problem at all. TV can display the HD channel. However, I still want to use MSE to play and record the HD channel. Is anyone can help me to solve this problem? My computer: HP Pavilion Desktop a6300f PC TV tuner card: AverMedia, AverTV Bravo Hybrid PCI-E I checked the TV tuner card website and it said my card support the ASTC signal. I hear that bodybuilder Amazin Lethi is the first Asian/Viet bodybuilder in entertainment industry.? I know this is true so it's an amazing accomplishment. My question is then why can't the broader community support us better i.e with the closure of Asian channels like AZN and struggling channels like ImaginAsian TV both in US. Does anyone dislike the E! cable network? I cannot stand what the E! entertainment channel has become. It's become the dumping ground of tasteless reality shows, hosts that are brainless sluts, and endless reruns of a few select shows. It wasn't always this way, they used to have great episodes of the "True Hollywood Story" featuring a variety of subjects, such as old tv shows, actors that had fallen from grace, etc. Since the new management has taken over that network a few years ago, they've changed the direction of E! into a completely different path. I absolutely hate their news program, it's nothing but a sickening kiss-up to the "young Hollywood crowd" news concerning about Britney, Lindsay, Miley blah, blah, blah. The "True Hollywood Story" episodes now feature episodes of stars that have not been around for a long period of time or fake pseudo stars that came from reality shows. E! has become much like MTV, they have reached the lowest common denominator to pander to the young demographic viewing audience. So what do you think? Is this why their forcing us to switch to digital tv. To get ready for the mark of the beast? I didn't realize that this was a global thing. And if the governments are involved then somethings up - I don't suppose they will be starting their own entertainment channels. If this is global does this mean that governments co-operating with each other on a grand scale. It also sounds like its something they have been pretty keen (desperate) to get their hands on. What makes these frequencies so desirable over others? How do these analogue frequencies interact and affect others i.e. mobile phones, digital tv, radio frequencies, infrared and ultraviolet, the brain frequencies, radiation, microwaves etc. Is this a spying thing? A tracking system for the chips they want to implant humans with? A new internet to link up global surviellance? A new radar system to keep up with advances in invisible aircraft? Something do to with space and SETI? Is it a form of behaviour control, mind control? They would need something uniform across the world if the chips are going to be tracked worldwide. You would need one big network of local (cell) towers (notice how many of these have been going up lately and how they are being hidden and disguised) which pick up the analogue signal from the chip then inserts the information into a central database (dna database anyone?) The information can be used to activate a camera to watch and listen to what we are doing and they can then bellow orders to us through the ones which talk (or create a voice inside our heads to talk to us).

Do the events of American Idol need to be reported by your local news channel? I'm curious if people who watch various news programs have noticed all of the attention on who was "voted off" of American Idol. Because this show is on the Fox Network, it would make sense that there might be some mention on both Fox News and the local Fox affiliate stations. However, since when do CBS, ABC, NBC, even CNN and other channels start making mention of the American Idol performers? In my opinion, this is getting ridiculous. Isn't this a type of entertainment news that could be reported by TMZ, or Inside Edition, or E!News? As someone who does not watch American Idol (and I even tried to watch one show unsuccessfully), I'm getting very tired of the interviews, analysis, and general news clips about this person or that person, and of course the comments by the judges. Are you tired of all these shows and channels devoted to celebrity worshipping?!? My girlfriend watches those celebrity worshipping shows like Xtra, Entertainment Tonight, E-news, the E channel, and all those other insanely annoying shows on tv that worship celebrities. Does anyone else feel disgusted at how these shows worship celebrities and try to show us how glamorous and better these people are than regular people? Im so freakin sick of seeing a 30 minute show devoted to that P.O.S. Lindsey Lohan and how she spends thousands of dollars on a single shopping trip on herself. And how all these celebrities have the best of the best, and spend millions of dollars on stuff they dont need instead of doing some good with it. I feel like they are encouraging people like Paris Hilton and such to do things like this. I flipped when i heard Britney Spears has coffee flown over from england on a freakin plane! Why are there so many shows like these?! Does anybody feel like the media and such are just getting out of control and trying to stuff this crap in our face too much?

Cable networks used to specialize in a certain genre, but they are becoming so generic. Why? I like TV. I like all kinds of TV, (except reality shows, which I find contrived and pointless). Anybody remember when TLC stood for "The Learning Channel" and they showed some really great programs like "Connections" and "Understanding"? Now it's all reality shows about fashion and motorcycles. I guess some people want to "learn" about that, but not me. Discovery Channel used to have super science documentaries. I guess they ran out, because now we can watch "The Deadliest Catch" every night instead. (Did I mention I hate reality TV?) A&E used to show sophisticated dramas. The latest lineup? Criss Angel Mindfreak Dog the Bounty Hunter Flip This House Gene Simmons Family Jewels Intervention SWAT The First 48 Just drop the "A" and call it "Entertainment Network". No art here. I am not a TV snob. I like all types of shows. But why do the niche networks continue to homogenize into one type of show? 500 channels and it's all the same. Why?

As most people know, NBC has moved Jay Leno to 10PM, accepting the smaller audience in exchange for the relatively low production costs of a talk show vs. dramatic scripted shows. Between 8PM and 10PM they are now running 7 hours of scripted television per week, but only 2 hours have decent ratings (one dramatic show: Law & Order; Special Victims Unit) and (one hour of comedy: 30 Rock and The Office). What do you think will happen? Will NBC turn into pure reality TV, talk shows, sports and news shows? The current scripted dramas like Trauma, Mercy, Heroes, and the original Law & Order are failing. I thought the gimmicks were greater designed, the heels were more disrespectful, the faces were more popular, there they aired Superstars and Challenge in tv, with all these squash matches with Jobbers e.G. Barry Horowitz and Brooklyn Brawler etc. Wrestling was a good and clean family entertainment, the valets were just valets and not just some girls whose only job it is to animate the male viewers not to change the channel because of the program lacks in wrestling entertainment values. May it be morning news for adults, whole day cartoon for children ,serial for moms or religious programs for adults, television is everywhere. It has not only became the part of our home, but also of the family. How uneasy do we humans feel if there isn't TV at home ,as if any of our family member has gone. In today's generation, if we would describe TV, it would be an object placed on a stand or hung on the wall of our house for entertainment.Entertainment, because people are mainly using it for entertainment only and not for news and other informative things. But is it made for that much only? Does it mean only an entertainment box for us? No, it does not. But, even after knowing that people do so. And an imortant reason for it is that most of programmes on that nasty box is based on serials or cartoon or else like that. Isn't this television is taking us to wrong direcion? Those serials on the television are now teaching people how to fight, how to flutter things,how to make a big issue of small things,how to gossip about one another and lots more. It was about the programmes, now what to say about those ads. Those shameless ads shown between family programmes can be a great cause for destroying young and chidren's mind. Should I get a Sky Package or Virgin Package? I'm considering changing provider, Talk Talk has been fine but I want TV package and a lot faster Internet.I don't want to be caught between 2 company's Id rather have the 1 bill. I wanted to original get SKY HD + and 4 entertainment mixes - Variety Music Knowledge Kids I also wanted to get Sky sports 3 for the wrestling :P and I'm sure another few shows would be good like snowboarding/Skateboarding but its something I could do without. I haven't ever had Sky or any TV service so I don't know what else it really has to offer, but WWE would be funky. I'd like shows that are on the entertainment mixes, stuff like the new South park episodes - when they air same with The Simpson's, I don't want to be to bombarded with repeats, a few times but not all the time. I'd like a channel similar to Kerrang and other music channels. I would like really fast Internet I love gaming online and I can have multiple devices running at once e.g PS3/360/PC/Wii playing games online even as a server host - not dedicated just when I go on create a server where I play on. Fast downloads of course. No limits, Good speeds during peak and non peak times. Now I really don't know much about how Internet works in terms of speed affecting - I mean I know up to 20mb Is cool but how much would I get peak and non peak? Is there a point, is there a limit to how much certain areas get and how do I find this out. I know Sky don't have as fast speeds as Virgin. I'd like a new router that can support multiple devices whether its wired or wireless. Phone I would like total free calls to landlines in the UK, cheap mobile and other calls as well as cheap or free calls to Portugal ( as talk talk offers) I'd also like my line rental done through the company and that it to be cheap enough. Is HD Sky or Virgin any good - Blu Ray looks funky but how does sky and virgin fair up? Id like a box with all the bells and whistles. What should I go for Sky is the only thing I have seen in action a few times so I'm slightly more familiar with it, that doesn't mean I won't try virgin. what should i do about nick jonas? About a yr & a 1/2 ago I hated the Jonas Brothers 'til I went 2 my uncles house It was round xmas my cousin asked me in2 her room 2 play Uno I noticed the walls were covered in JB posters I thot is she craZ or what? About 1/2 way thru the nite she left 2 get some snacks I waited & looked up @ 1 of the posters 1 of the 3 JB caut my i because he was the least weird lookin. As we drove home I coudn't help but think about the guy I didn't no wht his name was just that he was a JB. I was in that time of my life where I was 2 old 4 Disney Channel & in that time the JB were gettin pretty big. My mom wanted me 2 like them but I refused. So a few weeks later we went 2 their house again I was excited 2 c a poster of a JB I was disappointed in myself so I tried my hardest not 2 pay attention 2 them about a mo. later entertainment weekly came in the mail Will Ferell was on the cover I started readin thru it & came across a page that read the 3 mouseketeers it was about the JB I was in the kitchen w/ my mom I didn't read it 'cuz I'd already told her that "I would never like those stupid JB" & I'm a very pridefull girl I wasn't going 2go bck on my word so I just turned the pg 3 days later I gathered up the courage 2 read it but I waited til it was dark and everyone was asleep I looked 4 the page& started readin his name was Nick he was 15 he'd been on Broadway and his dad was a minister. I kinda formed a crush on him the next month I was watchin TV and saw a commercial for Dancing with the stars with musical guest the JB! So I watched they performed and I tried my best to sit through the whole show then the host said don't miss the JB on Jimmy Kimmel Live! 2morrow I thot awesome I'm totally goin 2 watch. Thou it was spring break and I didn't have anythin planned for the next day so I thot why not go I thot up a non suspicious plan 2 hav my mom take me to Hollywood I googled things 2 do in Hollywood the 1st thing 2 pop up was the wax museum so wax museum it was I asked my mom if we cud go and she said ok so we were off after we had gone 2 the museum we had lunch @ that Disney soda shop when we were done we took a walk around all of a sudden I saw girls with I love JB signs my plan had actually worked (so I thot) I didn't no what do next I told my mom that we should get an autograph 4 my cousin all she said was how do u know there going 2 b here? I decided not 2 respond & kept walkin I tryd my hardest 2 stall til they arrived but nothin worked not even the fake I gotta throw up act So we left I felt like cryin. I had 2 c this guy. Racist people, slavery, blacks, ect.? I AM NOT A RACIST!!!! REMEMBER THAT! Long long LONG ago there was slavery and horrible things like that. I think it's discusting to be racist. I'm talking about the Whites over rulling the Blacks. I think it's horrible to look a person in the eyes and than beat them. It's discusting. But the thing is that has been over for over 60 years now Some black people are still mad about that and say racism is bad (which it's truley terrible and bad) and they say that T.V doesn't have enough black people on shows and all of that. If white people made an "all white magazine", everyone would attack them. All races would attack the makers of the all white people magazine. And if white people had an "all white television channel" everyone would attack them But why is it ok for black people to have "black entertainment televistion-B.E.T-"and it's ok for them to have an all black magazine and no one gets mad about that and no one thinks it's racist. Ariel’s mom was wearing a white T-shirt with jean overalls and really nice looking Adidas shoes. Her hair was down in relaxed curls and was brown which is her natural color (Now her mom dyes her hair blonde). Her dad was wearing a black T-shirt and gray jeans with Adidas shoes that looked dirty and worn out unlike her mom’s shoes which looked nice and new. His hair was trimmed short maybe a half an inch long. The Mexican girl was wearing a plain pink shirt and a mini skirt. She was also wearing multicolored bangles, and, of course, Adidas shoes.
